1. Introduction - Modern age is the age of science. It has given man unlimited power. Man has conquered land water and air.

2. Electricity - Electricity is very useful to us. It lights our houses and moves our fans. Our Industries depend on electricity.

3. Means of Recreation - Radio, cinema and television are good means of Recreation. Educational training is also made possible by television.

4. Atomic Energy - Atomic energy is the latest discovery of science.With this people have reached the moon. It can meet the demands of energy.

5. Medicines - science has given many effective medicines to cure terrible diseases. Heart surgery and heart transplantation have become ordinary things now-a-days.

There are printing presses and the Sewing Machines for human comfort.

6. Science as a Curse - The invention of atom bombs is a great threat to the existence of humanity. They can destroy the world within seconds. Secondly, big factories, Mills And other machines have polluted the atmosphere.

7. Conclusion - Science is a great helper to modern man. If properly used it can make the life of a man healthier and happier. Man is called the master of the world because of science.

An Indian Festival (Diwali)

1 . Introduction - Diwali is a very nice festival of the Hindus. It often comes in the month of October or November every year. It is celebrated in the memory of Lord Ram's return to Ayodhya from forest after 14 years. The people of Ayodhya welcomed Lord Rama Heartily. They decorated their houses. Diwali is a remembrance of that day.

2 . Preparations - Days before the people start preparations for this festival. People clean their houses completely. They whitewash them.

3 . How celebrated - People wear new clothes and new dresses. They buy many things for this festival. Children buy crackers. Main days of celebration of Diwali are three 'Dhanteras', 'Roop Chaudas' and 'Diwali' on Amavasya day.

4 . Worship of Goddess Lakshmi - On this day people worship Goddess Lakshmi. They pray her for health, wealth and happiness for the whole year.

5. Importance - Diwali is an all India festival. People of all parts and all communities of India Celebrate it. It is a festival of national importance.

6 . Conclusion - Diwali is a very nice festival. People forget their differences. There are some bad customs too. Some people gamble and drink wine. This is not good. However, Diwali brings happiness to every home in India.
